PREVENTION / CORRECTION OF DUPLICATES AND OVERLAYS

Front End Tools: Regardless of the system that your registrars are using to register patients, our EMPI patient search tools can be utilized by the registrar to accurately identify and select the right patient. Searches can be performed in many ways and against various multiple data fields. Once the right patient is found, IWT will integrate the unique patient identifier back into the registration system, where the registrar can continue registering the patient.

Backend Tools: The EMPI application provides the capability to evaluate the patients in the EMPI application database for potential duplicates, potential overlays, andshared identifiers. A Work Queue is created for the Medical Recordsstaff, providing a list of potential duplicates and overlays for evaluation and correction. Once corrected, reporting tools help you communicate corrections to other departments, and to track trends in the creation of MPI errors for continuous quality improvement.
